SUPPORTING THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY WITH HEALTH AND SAFETY
We have various clients in manufacturing including; food production, metalworking, paint spraying, and parts manufacturer for the automotive industry to name just a few.
OUR WORK FOR YOU
Our trainers can help ease the pressure by delivering training, which is broken down into bite-sized modules at any time, day or night, seven days a week, accommodating even the most complex shift patterns. This gives our clients full compliance with statutory training requirements, such as fire marshal and first aid training, with the benefit of minimum downtime and loss of production.
We understand the challenges faced by our manufacturing clients, including the tight deadlines often imposed by other companies, further along in the supply and procurement chain.
ASSESSMENTS, TRAINING & COURSES
In this day and age, there is a heavy emphasis on moral and ethical values, with certification to international standards (ISO) for quality, environment, health and safety forming a vital requirement of the prequalification criteria for doing business with the broader public-facing clients. We can offer support by undertaking gap analysis audits to help you understand where improvements may be needed to meet the required standards. We can also help write and implement procedures and policies in your preparation for your third party; ISO audits by the certification body.

BESPOKE AND FLEXIBLE TRAINING
Our consultants can create a tailored health and safety management system for you, with policies, procedures and templates that meet your business’s specific needs. If you have work equipment, including machinery, you are legally obliged to carry out risk assessments under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). We can work with you to develop risk assessments and safe operating procedures for your machines and associated work activities and processes. We can also provide training for your employees and site managers, giving them the competence and confidence to create their risk assessments and safe operating procedures, saving you money on future consulting fees.
For food manufacturers, we can help you implement a food hygiene management system, including HACCP risk assessments, food hygiene policies and inspection checklists. We can also support your Safety Scheme in Procurement Applications for your chosen scheme (SSIPS), which will allow you to demonstrate to existing and future clients that you are a safe and responsible Organisation.
Why not train your employees to reduce the likelihood of accidents and diseases on your manufacturing sites by offering the IOSH Working Safely Course?
Many of our clients are now setting up IOSH Managing Safely Qualifications as the minimum corporate requirement for their supervisors and line managers to ensure they are aware of their legal accountability for their direct reports.
There is the flexibility to offer this course, one day a week over three weeks, to avoid the need for your managers to take too many consecutive days away from your business. Why not enquire about our other flexible course delivery options, or save money by arranging delivery by one of our instructors at your premises.
If you are working towards sustainable environmental practices, let’s empower your workforce to start thinking green by booking an IEMA accredited Environmental Sustainability Skills for the Workforce Course. We also offer level 2 food safety qualifications for your food operators and level 1 fire training course or level 2 fire training course for your staff and fire marshals.
Manual handling and ergonomic risks are often associated with the manufacturing industry. Our consultants can work with you to undertake risk assessments relating to your manual handling activities, including repetitive tasks related to production lines, to identify and control the risks. This will help reduce the likelihood of ill-health, including musculoskeletal and upper/lower limb disorders caused by incorrect workstation setup and poor posture. As well as safeguarding your workforce, we can help you avoid prosecution and civil compensation claims related to work ill-health.
Often manufacturing processes may involve the use of chemicals or exposure to hazardous substances (COSHH) emitted as part of the process. Our consultants can work with your teams to develop COSHH assessments and safe operating procedures relating to the safe use, storage and disposal of these substances.
We provide support in preparation for your Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme accreditation (FORS) and support you to develop procedures, policies, and training for your driving operations. In partnership with our network of colleagues and associates, we can also offer training for specialist plant and equipment, such as forklifts, very narrow aisle trucks (VNA’s) and overhead cranes.
