    Course Includes

    Learners will be awarded an IOSH Working Safely Certificate on successful completion of the assessment.

    The course provides an introduction to occupational health and safety which includes: defining hazard and risk; identifying common hazards; Improving health and safety performance; and Employees (workers) duties under health and safety law.

    Should you attend?

    This course is for people at any level, in any sector worldwide who need a grounding in the essentials of health and safety. It gives everyone at work an understanding of why they must work safely and does it enjoyably.

    Objectives

    By the end of the training, delegates will be able to:

    • Identify common workplace hazards
    • Understand what is meant by the terms hazard and risk
    • Understand why they must work safely
    • Understand how they can have a positive effect on workplace safety culture

    This, in turn, should improve the workplace health and safety culture and result in fewer accidents and hours lost due to sickness.

    Duration

    This course is usually delivered across 1-day in a classroom environment.

    There is the flexibility to deliver in 2 x 1/2-day sessions.

    Alternatively, the course can now be delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams or a software platform of your choice.

    Exam format

    A 1-hour examination paper is consisting of multiple-choice questions.

    This qualification does not expire, however refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to legislation is strongly advisable to keep the qualification current.
