    Successful qualification on this course will result in a level 2 award (Level 5 Scotland) in Food Safety in Catering being issued to the learner.

    This is an excellent introduction to food safety in catering and will benefit all employees at all levels, particularly those who hold or are about to hold, a food safety role within their catering or food and beverage organisation.

    The course will clarify aspects of food safety which many of us believe to be complex or daunting. The importance of food safety is underpinned by legislation which places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.

    Should you attend?

    This course may be of particular benefit to those who hold or are about to hold, a food safety role within their catering or food and beverage organisation.

    Successful candidates will be awarded a national level 2 (level 5 Scotland) qualification which will provide an ideal platform to higher-level training or career development.

    Objectives

    By the end of the training, delegates will:

    • Understand their duties and take responsibility for food safety.
    • Understand the importance of keeping themselves clean and hygienic.
    • Understand the importance of keeping work areas clean and hygienic.
    • Understand the importance of keeping food safe.

    This, in turn, should improve the workplace food safety culture and result in a reduced likelihood of food poisoning allegations.

    Duration

    This is delivered in 1 day in the classroom environment.

    Alternatively, the course can now be delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams or a software platform of your choice.

    Exam format

    Ongoing assessment by the tutor and written test paper.

    This qualification does not expire, however refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to legislation is strongly advisable to keep the qualification current.
